Abercastle

Pembrokeshire

Location Guide

Abercastle is a  picturesque cove and village, with a beach of muddy sand and shingle, part of the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park. In Welsh it’s known as Cwm Badau (Valley of Boats), and in it's past, was a busy cargo port.

It faces north-west, so is sheltered from the south-westerly gales and provides a safe harbour for the local fishing fleet.

West of the beach and a short distance inland there is an  impressive Neolithic burial chamber, Carreg Sampson.

Abercastle is particularly popular with divers, which can lead to congestion if too many cars and trailers are trying to get to the beach.
