Storm-petrels

Order: Procellariiformes Family: Hydrobatidae  Link: Storm-petrels

The storm-petrels are the smallest of seabirds, feeding on plankton and small fish picked from the surface, typically while hovering. They nest in colonies on the ground, most often in burrows. There are about 20 species worldwide, 6 found in Britain.
